Medical Treatment Services

Our veterinarians provide many medical and surgical services, ranging from routine to advanced procedures.

We are equipped to handle a wide variety of routine and emergency medical conditions. Because we perform many diagnostic procedures in-house, we can often solve problems and initiate treatment quickly. In some cases, your pet may require hospitalization and further diagnostic tests. The following is a more detailed description of some of the equipment and services we offer, or Call Us to discuss your pet’s needs.

In-house Diagnostics Lab

 When it comes to laboratory testing, most clinics have to send samples to an external laboratory and wait on test results that may be critical in making a diagnosis.

With an in-house diagnostic laboratory, testing can be performed on site for a quicker diagnosis.   This is especially important during emergency situations when treatment options may depend on test results.  Our diagnostics include but are not limited to:

* Full body and dental digital xrays

* Abdominal Ultrasound

* Blood & Urinalysis

* Electrocardiogam

Our veterinarians frequently use a premium microscope to look for organisms and to examine cells.

Systems that often present with pathology that we are comfortable treating include:

* Cardiology – heart & circulatory system

* Dermatology – skin conditions including allergies and parasites

* Endocrinology – conditions related to hormones eg thyroid glands, adrenal glands, pancreas

* Gastroenterology – conditions related to the stomach & intestines eg intestinal foreign bodies, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcers

* Oncology – cancer and cancer-related symptoms

* Urology – conditions of the kidneys, bladder, ureters and urethra eg kidney disease, cystitis, urinary crystals, bladder stones

* Neurology – conditions of the central and peripheral nervous systems, including the brain andspinal cord

* Opthamology – conditions relating to the eyes including entropion, cherry eye, corneal ulcers, cataracts and districhiasis

* Orthopedics – conditions involving the skeletal system

 Through our many modes of diagnostics and testing, we have the ability to determine and diagnose wide number of health issues.  When indicated, we also refer cases to specialists.  Call or Book an appointment online if you have any concerns regarding your pet’s medical health.

Blood & Urinalysis Machines

Our in-house blood and urinalysis equipment provides results in less than 20 minutes.  These are used for screening prior to anesthesia as well as for diagnosing internal problems for example:

With blood and urinalysis testing we are able to test for pH, protein, glucose, blood cell levels, etc. to help identify and treat health concerns such as:

* Urinary Tract Infections

* Kidney disease

* Liver disease

* Bleeding disorders

* Inflammation

* Hydration status

And many more

In-house X-rays & Ultrasounds

Our in-house X-ray and Ultrasound machines help us to investigate and diagnose a number of conditions for example:

Performing in-house diagnostics permits faster diagnosis and initiation of treatment which can be life and money saving in emergency and time-sensitive situations.

Emergency Services & In-Home Euthanasia

Emergency Services

We understand that anything can happen in the day-to-day life of a pet. Emergencies don’t always happen at convenient times, and often come unexpected and without warning. Our veterinarians are available for consulting, supporting, and assessing particular situations requiring urgent or emergency services from 8am – 10pm and will assess needs on a case-by-case basis.

Outside of these hours, if unreachable, we refer emergencies to nearby referral centers, either Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialists or the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley.

Call Us today if you are in need of immediate attention and access to emergency services.

In-Home Euthanasia

Having a pet struggling with unforeseen, aggressive, or life-threatening illnesses is a difficult circumstance to be in. Sometimes it’s the most difficult decision to make, and often times this decision comes more quickly than we imagine. To help ease this burden, our doctors are available for in-home euthanasia for existing patients whenever possible.

Having your pet live out its final moments in a place where it feels most comfortable, loved, and surrounded by family is the best comfort we can provide you, your pet, and your family. We do everything we can to ensure your pet is as stress-free and comfortable as possible during its final moments.
